After we got back from kayaking, we planned on driving out to Sorrento to see Lili and her pottery (see this post). Our plans didn’t exactly work out as we ending up slightly lost, or more accurately trapped on a one-way road in the park. We did take advantage of being close to Cadillac Mountain and checked it out. It was a very popular place with kids running around and families taking pictures.

Here’s another view of that cruise ship.
For lunch, we ended up finding the only parking lot/picnic area that wasn’t crowded and had mountain house chili mac and some munchie-type things from the car.
When we finally got straightened out and on our way, we headed to Sorrento.
For dinner that night we stopped at Beals Lobster Pound near our B&B in Southwest Harbor. We probably could have walked there if we had wanted, but the fog was rolling in and we didn’t want to get stuck in any bad weather.
The next day after breakfast we set out to head home. We took our time getting ready and heading out and actually stopped for an early lunch at a little lobster shack so we could squeeze in just a little bit more fresh seafood. Here we had lobster rolls and corn and fried clams.
We were going to take our time travelling today and stay the night somewhere on the way back, but Matt decided he’d drive it the whole way through. It should have been fairly easy to drive in one day, but we took time to stop at a few antique shops and also the more fun “junk” shops.
We ended up back in Seneca around 6:30 am on Friday and slept for a while before getting up and going to Ohio for the reception. More driving. Saturday was my Mom’s side family reunion. More people to meet Matt. By the end of the week we were just happy to be home again.
